A corrupt or incomplete font file can sometimes cause ROES to not completely launch. This is often seen as the spinning rainbow cursor when you mouse over ROES during the launch process and ROES never completely opens. If you are able to open and interact with ROES but have another issue, these directions will not help.
Delete all existing ROES shortcuts and launch files. Look for any files in your applications folder named WHCC ROES and any files in your downloads or desktop named Launch-WHCC-ROES.jnlp, Launch-WHCC-ROES.app or Launch-WHCC-ROES.dmg.
Go to your Applications folder and open Font Book.
In Font Book, select the File menu, Restore Standard Fonts. Click Proceed. You should receive a success message.
Please note, this step is not deleting your fonts, only moving the non-system fonts to a different folder. We will re-install your fonts at the end of this document.
Launch ROES from the ProDPI website, following the directions shown for your specific browser. If ROES successfully launches continue with the next steps to re-enable your fonts.
Quit ROES. It's important ROES is not running for the next step.
The Font Book Restore Standard Fonts function moved all of your non-system fonts to two different folders. One is in the system Library folder, the other in the Library folder in your user folder.
In the Finder, select the Go menu, Go to Folder… and enter /Library -- this is the system Library folder.
You should see both a Fonts and a Fonts (Removed) folder. Inside Fonts (Removed) will be a folder with the date. Move all of the font files from inside that date folder into the Fonts folder.
Again, in the Finder, select the Go menu, Go to Folder… and enter ~/Library -- this is your user Library folder.
Again, you should see both a Fonts and a Fonts (Removed) folder. Inside Fonts (Removed) will be a folder with the date. Move all of the font files from inside that date folder into the Fonts folder.
You can close that Finder window once you move the font files back into the Fonts folder.
Launch ROES from your Applications folder or the shortcuts created during Step 4. ROES should launch successfully and all of your fonts should be enabled.
